Ice Skating Event
When in Holland, do as the Dutch do: go ice skating in the winter! On 21 January, the Student Parish organises an Ice Skating Event in Kardinge.
We gather at 2 pm at St. Joseph’s Cathedral so we can bike to Kardinge together. We can rent ice skates over there. There are people helping if you don’t know how to skate. Afterwards we will find a pub for a well-earned mug of hot cocoa!

No Student Mass on 24 December!
Alternatively you can go to the Midnight Mass which will start at midnight. This will be in Dutch, but an English liturgy will be available in the back of the church. Because of the high number of people that visit this Mass, the parish secretary sells booklets with all the songs etc. in advance. You need this to enter church. Be in time, because otherwise you won’t be able to be seated.
Find a complete summary of all Christmas celebrations here (they will all have English liturgy available!)

During this first evening we do a head-count, make groups and pick what we are going to read this term.

Aduard Abbey Field Trip
Less than 10 kilometers outside Groningen lies what remains of one of the largest monasteries of Europe. Does this old monastery, the way of life of the monks and the faith that shaped all this, has something to tell us today? We will find out on Sunday 5 June. We will gather in front of the cathedral at 1:30 pm. The museum wants to know in advance how big our group is, so please sign up for the trip by contacting Mark or sending us an e-mail.
There is a Mass in English every Saturday at 5:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. You can find all Mass & Prayer times here!

Every month there are several social activities including a bible study group and pub quizzes!

Every few months we host a “International Bring & Share Meal” at the parish house after English Mass. People from countries all over the world cook their favourite dish and share it with us. There’s always something new to discover!
