• Aduard Abbey

On Saturday, the 22nd of June, we have organized a trip to Aduard Abbey.  The cost is 5,50 euro and includes a hot beverage.  Please bring a packed lunch.  Meet at 11:15 am at the Groningen bus station, where we will take the 39 bus at 11:30 to Aduard.  We will have a tour (in English) of the Abbey (museum and ruins), a look around the town, and return to Groningen by 4:30 PM.  For more information, please use the contact form here.

Services and Activities

There is a Mass in English every Saturday at 5:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. You can find all Mass & Prayer times here.
Every month there are several social activities including a bible study group. Students gather at someone’s house for dinner and afterwards study Holy Scripture using the method of Lectio Divina. They take turns hosting their small group of up to eight students.

Fellowship

While celebrating the Eucharist at Mass and studying Holy Scripture are our key activities, we also think fellowship is important. It’s good to learn to know each other outside Mass and serious activities, too. At least once per semester we host an “International Bring & Share Meal” where students from all corners of the earth cook their favorite dish to share with us. Outside these big gatherings, students sometimes gather for smaller bring & share like events as well.

Contacts with other organisations

The Roman Catholic Campus Ministry is not the only (religious) student organisation in Groningen. We have contacts with Groningen University, several Protestant student organisations like OCSG and GSp, but also with organisation spefically geared towards international students like ESN.

Everybody comes from all over the world, from very different cultures, but we are all used to celebrating Mass in the same way.–José
